I’m thinking of upgrading.

What is the easiest way of transferring the existing files to the new NAS?

I currently back up my iMac to a WD desktop HDD with Time Machine. That has been problem free. If I were to consider backing up the mac wirelessly to the My Cloud, might it be problematical? There are quite a few threads in the Apple forums about problems restoring from MBL that had been used as the backup source.

You can consider doing a Safepoint.

Thanks John - i’m assuming the SafePoint is straight to the new MyCloud. I tried backing up to an external WD HDD and it isn’t recognised.

The SafePoint will work with other network drives or shares on your LAN.
