Rolled back (from 2.0.2.32) and now can't play files

I upgraded (before reading about all of the problems) and then eventually rolled back to 2.01.86

Now my local MP4 files won’t play at all. mkv/mp4/m4v all are hang before starting to play anything.

any ideas?

Gary

Hi stothers, welcome to the Community. From where are you trying to play the files?

this is from an externally attached USB drive.

it worked fine for months.

after the upgrade there were so many problems (and that’s when i found this board), so i back-revved down.

now nothing plays.

i’m going to try to re-install the good firmware again…

By the good firmware I hope you meant one of the older firmwares. like Version 1.15.10

One of the less buggy firmwares that i’ve tried. Why can’t we have a firmware that can play content from Netflix, Share folders, USB, or media servers without studdering, crashing, or freezing? :confounded:

I would recommend to update to the latest again, to see if that works. And then try to rollback again, if you’re still having problems with it… Or rollback even further.

Have you done a reset after the rollback?

Yup!

back to “normal”

i upgraded again then rolled back again and it seems to be back to where it was.

thanks everyone!

Gary
