Network cannot see MBL

Hi peeps.

Newbie here. Got 2TB NAS drive, plugged straight into sky router. I can see it under network (on windows 8) but under my home network, nothing shows up. I can get into the setting side of things, but can’t transfer any files or anything. When I run \mybooklive I get an error code the network path was not found, and that the remote device will not accept a connection. Any ideas? I feel I am so close, but yet so far.

Thanks guys.

how do you get into the settings? http:\mybooklive?

You can try the following, if it does not work, might be a W8 issue, as there are other who had complained about it as well. Also try other OS such as IOS, Android or W7 if you can.

Find the IP for your NAS, see if it is listed in the router DHCP leases.

Once you find it, see if you can connect from Windows Explorer (NOT IE) as:

\

Example: \192.168.1.101

If the above works, there should not be a reason why you could not map a drive via the IP.

If the above works as well, you can access the dashboard via IE or any browser via the IP:

http:\

Example: http:\192.168.1.101

Thanks for replying.

I can see MBL when I put the IP into my chrome browser. It just brings up the dashboard thingy. If I put \mybooklive or ip into run, then it just says there is no network connection. The IP address is listed in the DHCP section of my router. I just cant get anything on or off the drive. Very frustrating.
