Æonish Hub ReV2 [WDTV LIVE HUB]

Lovely theme, thanx!!!

Sweet now that is nice!

Patazor- That’s a Great site for music artist images you suggested. Thanks, helped me out alot doing musicsheets, however it’s a rather slow process  Worth the effort though to compliment Joeys theme!

Does anyone know of any other similar sites, so that i can widen my search options?

I found this site which is great for different backdrop images for themes- Check it out!

http://www.hdwallpapers.in/latest_wallpapers.html

Please note that i haven’t yet carried out an extensive search of the site but did quickly find these images-

Sorry, can’t upload any more as they are all too BIG to upload. Worthwhile checking it out though for sure.

And also please add to this if you know of any other sites. THANKS.

PS- A MASSIVE KUDOS to Joey!!! WIll hope to PM you sometime soon.

Check this out for all the Star Wars enthusiasts!! (this file was smaller enough to upload, but not sure what it will be like on large screen.)

BTW i am not conversant with any photoshop edit suite but the above looks like a pretty good montage of star wars films, but I would love to find a montage of classic gangster type films, ie. Casino, Goodfellas,  Reservoir Dogs, taxi driver,  etc, etc  (Basically any De Niro/ Pacino/  I think you get the picture). Has anyone ever come across such a montage?

If so please post!

PS- Any other film montages would be good for other people! If people respond then I reckon it would be better to start a NEW post for this!

NOTE- The idea of possibly using PNG images for folders/ folder backgrounds would also be a massive development of WD’s firmware whereby the above could be utilised any which way THEMER’s desired!!!

If you have hopefully viewed the various images on the suggested sites then NO doubt it would be helpful if you could give KUDOS to HomerJ’s post-

Please Vote for the ability to use transparent png’s as folder icons Vote for Proper png transparency for moviesheets , folders etc. 2nd Attempt to get WD’s attention

AND lets not forget Joeys HUGE impact upon the development of moviesheet theming which seems to be  somewhat limited by the firmware at present!!!

Who knows what is achievable???  Perhaps WD can stop adding s**te GAMES instead of dealing with more pressing issues for themers and fellow HUB users alike.

Another idea would be to make the HUB features more accessible for the growing UK market?

Goodnight, that is my rant over!

SIGNED A SOMEWHAT FRUSTRATED USER

EDIT- I thought the star wars montage looked familiar- just seen it on HelllBound’s latest post!!

@ architectonic

Some very nice wallpapers in the link you posted… thanks!

Here’s a couple of my fav’s…

About music I prefer to use google images search, to have more results and in “any size” I select “exatly” and set to 1920 - 1080 (or another size whit 16:9 aspect ratio) because if the image isn’t 16:9 obiuvsly it look distort when you look at the backdrop on the tv. Anyway also using google is still dificult to find large 16:9 picture about band or artist and even more diffcult is to find wallpaper with artist name etc. but it depends a lot on the artist are you looking for.

Sorry for my English

wow do you have a music sheet as the video?

TG just confirmed that a hub compat TV XML generator will be added to version 1.2.6 [this is going to help with generating TV shows with TG for this theme]

He also confirmed that he will be adding trailers in the xmls as well. See here:  http://forum.wdlxtv.com/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=4397&p=36023#p36023

edit: which is apperantly already out… make sure you update TG

Hi, Just wondering if you could help with a few questions.

Can you generate the movie info with thumbgen or do you have to use the hub to get content info?  If the info can only be generated by the hub what happens if the movie content cant be found ?  Do you then do a separate xml in thumbgen and then transfer to the hub?

Is the backdrop static for each movie or do they change?

Thanks and great looking theme.

Still testing with Latest Version of Thunbgen… looks promising :)  that it does everything.

‘Backdrops’ are a modification to the Live Hub Xml for the template i did … as long  as the “TMDB”  scrapes a ‘Background’ and ‘Poster’ for a movie … then there is no change to the current theme.

Yes thumbgen generate movie info automatically but you have to set the extension to .xml in the option to make them compatible with the hub. About music you have to generate the info with the hub because thumbgen doen’t support this feature(it will be add in future relases) and it seems that the hub doesn’t recognize the xlm file if you make manualy and copy into the movie folder

If you use thumbgen you just have to set the folder with the movie you are intrested and thumbgen will save all the files in that folder,

gladster: If the info can only be generated by the hub what happens if the movie content cant be found ?

reply: this is the case of music (I suggest you to use thumbgen to get movie info you will find the movie for sure)

In this theme the backdrop change for each movie.

Thanks Plesk90, gonna give it a whirl! - and thanks again JoeySmyth and all the other themers for your hard work.

@Joey

Where in your code would I kill the usage of the backdrop. I personally do not like the backdrop as it makes the screen look too  busy. I prefer a simple wallpaper in the background and just use the big image that with the details and the thumbnail at the bottom.

@drizzt09

I personally prefer the backgrounds changing, and a lot of time went into developing the Moviesheets and the code to achieve it.

If you want to modify it for your own personal use... then here is the code for the 'backgrounds' on different views which when deleted, wil remove backdrops.

Thank You joey.

I will try this tomorrow, been up too long working on folder icons tonight and have to work in the morning. Dead tired. Thanks.

FYI, the TV XML data is not perfect using TG yet. but the the author is working on it now. Hopefully have it soon and will work perfect for TV and Movies when generating for this theme.

Hi Joey,

thanks for the nice theme!

Looks really good, but I have a problem with the correct display of the artists and albums.

For me only the name of the album is displayed, not the artist.

Also the file name of the movies does not appear correctly.

How can I fix this? Does anyone have a tip on what to do?

Greetings PanthaV8

@PanthaV8

Artist,Album etc … is either in the ID3 tag or the XML

Movie name doesent appear ?  Which View ?

Try to provide more detailed information and or screenshots to help me and others assist you.

When reporting problems, try to provide as much info as you can. (too much is great … very little, becomes a guessing game)

Ok, I have the problem both in the gallery view as in the other views.

I have copied movies and music albums on the local hard disk and created the XML with the hub.

In case of music albums, this was not always possible (not found). Therefore, I copied the XML from other folders and renamed. After that, I copied the images that i created with TG.

Now almost all albums, only the name of the album appears, but not the artist.

(Artist: ACDC, Album: Back to Black - displayed: Back to Black)

I sorted and tagged all albums with the program Godfather.

Maybe there is something wrong with the ID3 tag???

Is it possible to take the name that is displayed, directly from the name of the folders?

Sorry for my english!

I forgot

All movie names appears, but I want to change them form original title (english) to the german title (where I come from;))

Until now Ive done it in any view, as I changed the XML. Only in the gallery view it doesnt work :(.

Have you any idea?

@PantherV8

If you open ThumbGen. Go to Options.

General tab-  far right, check mark…Movie Info, Main MovieSheet, Main/extra moviesheet metadata

Moviesheet tab- change MAIN to Joeys TG template

Input/Outpu Naming tab- Movie Info Export=$M$N .xml / default / eport using hub format

                                              Main Moviesheet=$M$N .png

Click OK

this will setup TG to generate your XML instead of using the hub

as for changing the title to german. You can try setting up to use a german collector.  if not when it searches the movie, do manual instead of auto. on the left check the german flag and see if it changes the data to the right to german. If not manually type the german title in “Title” field as I am pretty sure the hub does not display the “original title” field

then click generate

_ “Also the file name of the movies does not appear correctly.” _

So, the first  problem report was a bit misleading… The filenames were in English… not Deutsch.

Solution: Use you LIve Hub or Thumbgen to scrape and generate  XML info in your native language.

For Music, “Do my ‘Demo Folders’ display the Info ?”    (Yes i know,  there are in English my native language.)

If they do… (They Work for Me)  … then examine the XML’s and/or ID3 Tags of Your files to see where the problem could be.

I Use ‘Mp3tag’ Software for my demo files/folders.

Yes, there is a Deutsch version
