You must format the disk in Drive F

I’ve been having issues where it disconnects on its own for a year or so now, and now its saying format. I know the drive’s SMART status is ok, as I’ve tested it with Data Lifeguard Diagnostic AND Dell PC Support.

I need to know: is it the USB-to-mini cord? or do I have to replace the drive? I am a poor student who cannot afford professional data recovery, and would need either a really techie friend or a miracle to help.

Hi, if the hard drive passed the Data Lifeguard Diagnostic test, then only the information is damaged or corrupted. If you need to recover your files, you can use a data recovery program like recuva or testdisk and then format the hard drive.
