Yet another way of adding MBL share to Libraries in Windows (works also in Win 8.1)
This method worked only with media libraries, but now I found a way to make it work also with any windows library:
-
create a folder on your PC with any name, for instance “C:\abcde”.
-
integrate this folder as usual into your “Documents” library (here we use Documents library, but you could use any Library).
-
go to directory *C:\Users\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Libraries*
-
back up a copy of the file “Documents” present in that directory
-
now right click on the “Documents” file in the directory, select “Open With” and then “Editor” or “Notepad”
-
it will open a plain text file. Search in it for location of “C:\abcde” (the file you added to the library) and replace it with the path to the Public share of your MBL \MBL-IP\Public (here we use the Public share, but could be used any share or folder inside the share)
-
delete the following numbers between … so that it should look like this:
\MBL-IP\Public </ url>
-
now save the file “Documents” that you just edited
-
you can delete the folder created in the meantime “C:\abcde”
-
Done: if you go to you Documents library you should see your Public share.
I am working on Win 8.1, but I believe it works well also on Win 7 and 8.
