Wireless share problems

Hello,

I have a WD TV Live connecting to a Linksys WRT610N.

I have 2 laptops that has Windows 7 Pro connected to the same router.

The 2 laptops are able to see eachothers shares on the WORKGROUP but the WD TV Live cant see the 2 laptops.

If I use a cable on the laptops then the WD TV Live is able to see and connect to the laptop shares !

Can anyone help please !^

Thanks

I don’t know if this is your problem, but some wireless routers have a setting for wireless isolation (my Netgear 3700 has it). Wireless isolation prevents the wireless clients from accessing the other wireless and wired clients (can only access the internet). If you have that option, make sure that it is turned off.

Hello,

This not my problem, no such options and I can access the laptop shares with other wired device on the network, problem is isolated to the WD TV Live.

Thanks for the link, didnt change much, not sure problems comes from Windows since that once I plug the same laptop with a network cable the shares work, its just once I go wireless that laptop no longuer showing

Well I found the solution to the problem.

In my firewall setting the wireless connection was set at public instead of trusted.

Changed it to trusted and voila, its working now.

Thanks to all who tried to help
