Hi all, first off i just want to let you all know i’ve been reading up on all the similar issues posted here before posting lol, but here’s my problem; i’ve had a My Passport 071A for about 2 years, used almost every day without 1 problem. Its never been dropped/damaged in any way. I used it once yesterday for literally 2 minutes without a hitch, i go to use it today and after about 5 minutes windows FINALLY detects my drives (i have my 1TB split in 2 partitions) BUT when i open the drives they are empty…MAJOR BUMMER!!! im a game designer (hobbiest of course haha) along with all of my recorded music and many other files that i would lose my mind if lost em(i know, i know, backup as much as possible) but if it works great then why back up? too little too late i know. Anyways, the light blinks once the drives are recognized, i can hear the disk spinning but not a funky sound, sounds normal, doesnt overheat. Im running TestDisk now to try and save the files on another External HDD i have. Is there any other alternative i can use to get my files if TestDisk doesnt work? I just want to backup my files i have on the HDD with the issues before i try formatting it. Thanks in advance guys!
