Windows Mapping Ports off Network

I would like to set up my NAS device so I can map it on my laptop and still access the data while I’m not on the local network. The problem is, I don’t know which port I need to forward on the device. There is a lack of information on a lot of them. I only really know what the SSH port does and I have no real need for SSH access.

First up, what port(s) are required for port forwarding? Secondly, what other settings do I need to enable?
