i have upgraded to windows 8 and it would appear that my WD external unit is not compatible. How can I retrieve my storage and upgrade to work with 8?
What OS and software did you use for your backups? Does the drive show in Disk Management and does it have a letter assigned?

I have same problem. I just upgraded to Windows 8. Anywhere backup isn’t compatible. The new version of WD Discovery does work and I got my network drives mapped fine. Wondering if there is a new Anywhere Backup version for Windows 8?
