Windows 8 & My Book World not playing friendly

I recently got a Windows 8 PC, and I’m no longer able to use my WDH1NC10000N My Book World networked HD.  I have installed the WD SmartWare software on the PC, but it does not recognize the HD to create new backups or retrieve my previous back ups.

Has anyone had this issue?  If so, how do I make it work again?

Do other versions of Windows work with it? If so it may be a Windows 8 issue. Did you check WD to see of there are updated drivers?

Used to work with Windows 7.  I thought I downloaded the most recent driver, but I could be wrong.
