The My Book Essential 2.0 comes with Memeo auto backup, it look on Memeo Website and they have an upgraded version that works with Win 7. You can also try using Win7 Backup , it has worked fine for me , hope it does for you.
first off you should download a xp compatable on windows 7. What this does is let anything that needs windows xp run on 7. to see if you have it allready go to start my computer click your hard drive and find your software right click it and go to properties when you get there look for a tab that says compatibility click it. check the box"run this program in comparibility mode for: then click windows xp. then click close. This should fix your problem if not just upgrade ur software then try again
