I just bought a 3TB My Book Essential. When I plug it in under windows 7, it shows an usb device have been plugged in, but nothing shows up. I can’t see the drive at all.
Do I need to install some drivers?

Is USB 3.0 enabled in the bios? Did the PC come with it or did you use an addon card? Does it work with USB 2.0?

I am using a USB 2.0 port.
Everything else is working on the port. Mouse, keyboard, iPhone, etc… Just the WD MyBook. Windows sees it, because it shows the device is connected, but after that nothing shows us.
