Windows 7, unable to detect two 3tb Mybook essential ext HD's

As per title, each drive works fine when connected individually, however when both are connected, only one drive is detected by windows.

Please help…

Just to add when both are connected, WD smartware returns

“no writable wd smartware partitition found” on the second drive.

Here is a post that explains fixing the problem http://community.wdc.com/t5/Other-Externals/Problems-with-having-more-than-one-USB-2-0-WD-2-TB-Elements/td-p/285724  The simple fix is opening Disk Management and make sure the drives have different drive letters and that they are both online.
