Windows 10 problem

Now running Win 10. WD spinning up and several USB cables tried. A J: Drive assigned but was previously up to K:

I can locate driver in Disk management but every attemp to  re-formatt or EXE. results in either a message stating “A re-boot has been detected” or messages indicating a WD Drive is not connected. Everything was working fine on OS 8 but after 6 hours of turning things on and off and subsdtituting cables I am totally frustrated and have no back-up. It appears the old driver is loaded but I cannot download the new driver due to the above messages. Help is appreciated

Windows 10 is full of bugs.
