Will WD stand behind Out of Region warranty issues?

My wife and I have two brand-new portable drives. I have a 1TB My Passport Ultra and she has a 1TB My Passport. I have registered them but they both give the warranty status as Out of Region. They were both purchased online. She bought hers from Amazon.com and mine was purchased from B&H Photo. We are in the U.S. and both of the retailers are U.S. based companies. I’d like to understand what this status means for our warranties and whether or not this means that Western Digital will not stand behind their products in the event of a warranty issue?
