Will a My passport for Mac I just bought work with Lion

Haven’t opened the box yet - it states it will work with Mountain Lion but I don’t want to upgrade to ML as I am a big fan of FCP 7 and don’t want to upgrade to FCP X. Only planning to use it for storage of video media.

Can you please share the model number of your drive? it should be on the box.
