I have an old original WD media player and it’s currently working great with a 1tb and 500gb drives.
I want to upgrade the 500 for 2tb as they’re well priced right now.
Also I should mention I never changed the firmware.
If answer is no or yes…please tell me the max it can deal with?
the original WD Media Player (Gen1) only supports a Maximum of 2TB
Joey is correct, the player will support up to 2TB on earlier firmware. You would need to update the firmware in order to detect drives larger than 3TB.
