Why is it so slow!

I have a mybook live 3tb. My router isa belkin N750 DB. My speeds are about 1-3 mbs. Why is this? My router has gigabit port. Do i need to change the settings or somthing?

Hi, did you check if you have any firewall or antivirus installed that might be slowing down the transfer rate? Also try connecting the MBL directly to the computer and check if you get the same transfer rate.
