Why does Smartware not lock my hard disk, although I locked it with a password?

Hi,

Whenever I add a security password for my Passport hard disk, Although the password has been successfully added I found out:

1- I don’t see under the view status of  hard disk that locked is converted to ‘Yes’ instead of 'No".

2- While I have tried erasing my drive, I wasn’t asked to enter the password.

Although I have reformated my drive, I didn’t see that the lock vaild.

Follow the link below to review the steps to use password protection for your Passport. Once you setup the password, disconnect the Passport  from your computer and you should be able to see the unlock option.
