What is the purpose of a public folder Who can access a Public Folder? Anyone who is given level of permission to access (the MyCloud), for can anybody on the web access the Public Folder (if given permission or not?
Ideally, you are blocking netbios over TCP/IP ports from being routable over your router. (No port forwarding rules set, and nothing opening them with upnp.) If that is the case, in a perfect world (we will ignore network worms and pals) you should not have random outside people accessing your data on your NAS.
Otherwise, a public share is open to anyone who connects to it. There is no access restriction in place at all.
