Can’t quite figure out the white light on the the drive, when it’s plugged in to the USB on my desk top and ive ask for data to transfer the light flashes about every second or maybe faster, does this mean the drive is transfering data?

If you are transferring files manually, you should be able to see a progress bar.
Are you using any specific application to transfer the files?
