All I care about is streaming files from a network to the Live Plus for viewing. Don’t care about watching youtube or netflix or anything else. The firmware version I’m running currently keeps experiencing lag at around the 50 minute mark of my movies. Doesn’t seem to matter if it’s an .iso file or an .mkv file. I don’t understand why it seems to run great for the first 40+ minutes and then starts stuttering, pausing, and just downright freezing but whatever. Interested to hear what the best firmware version seems to be for other people who only want to stream movies.
You have not posted any equipment specifications, therefore, no-one can conclusively state one firmware version is better than the other. Download the latest firmware version, install it and play with it for a few days. If that firmware version does not work for you, downgrade to the previous version, until you find a version that suits your requirements.
Are you sure its the WD that’s the issue? It should be just getting chunks of video from the source. Could be an issue with the PC streaming the software to the WD.
I’ve had issues with Twonky media server doing that when it’s cache got out of control. Host PC started to slow down, and then the video got choppy. Restarted the media server, and it was fine again.
