Which 4th gen. media player firmware?

Hi, guys. I see that most here post about the 3rd gen. I got my replacement player and it is the 4th gen (without Netflix).

My question is what firmware is proven to be stable for this player (no freezes etc)? Is 1.02.17 (the one WD site shows as current) safe to use?

Also is the firmware for the 3rd compatible with the 4th gen player or not?

  1. Sure, 1.02.17 is safe … me personally, i haven’t had any freezing of playing movies
