Where to find system files of the WD SMP especially the "inc_rv_home_menu_node.xml"?

Dear community,

i am trying to disable the displaying of the “WD Special Offers” in the main menu.

i already found the following thread:

http://community.wdc.com/t5/WD-TV-Live-Streaming-Discussions/Removing-quot-Live-Tv-quot-From-Main-Menu-Solution/m-p/417986#M9379

Here is explained how to edit the following file : →   inc_rv_home_menu_node.xml

My question:

where do i find this file? can i access it via the explorer? i can see the WD SMP in my network but there are no files displayed when click on it. Show hidden files in explorer is “on”.

Thanks for help!

@marcus_he

The XML if freely downloadable on the forums. The GPL Package Download also contains this file.

You edit it … zip it … and then upload/submit it to your SMP. (read the forum for many how-to-guides)

However, to save you a little time iv’e done it for you. Download it and upload the zip to your SMP (Don’t Extract It)

Then “Apply” the No WD Offers theme.

Thanks for this quick reply joey.

I downloaded the file and updloaded it via the WD SMP web interface, then restarted.

The “WD special offers” doesn’t appear any more.

So thanks for that!

but again the question: Can i access my WD SMP to find that file or other system files or is it strictly forbidden by WD to access this folders??

I just want to access my WD SMP, get the file (inc_rv_home_menu_node.xml) , edit the xml and then upload it again.

Isn’t this possible??

As far as i know … No    (but there’s probably some Linux Guru’s that say you can)

KAD79 , Tinwarble have provided in the past the Extracted Osd’s of the Mochi Theme for making custom edits.

Just download, make your edits … rezip (at root level, no compression, and make sure to have at least the meta.xml file … what you don’t modify … the SMP will use it’s defaults)

Here’s a link for a full osd (1.12.14 SMP)
