I attempted to retrieve my backed up files from the “my book essential”. Not all the files were retrieved? Why? I tried a second and third time and it kept overwriting the existing files. I don’t see any of my word docs, pdf’s or spread sheets. None of my music was restored or pics. I’m freaking out. There’s 3 years worth of my daughters pics in there and tax returns!
What software came with your MyBook and did you use that to restore your data? WD has produced three generations of the MyBook Essentials and I need to know which one you have before I can say how to get your data back.
