When I plug in the drive, 2 drives pop up in the finder window?

When I plug in the back up drive (new G Drive mobile USB-c 5TB back up drive) and I look in finder window two things pop up: G-Utilities Drive AND G-Drive mobile USB-C. Why are 2 volumes popping up for 1 brand new drive and how do I delete the incorrect one so that it can be set up to only back up onto 1 drive (with 1 volume)? It said it should just be ready to back up a Mac after plugging it in but I have never encountered 1 drive showing up in Finder as 2 volumes? Any help is appreciated!
