What the purpose of admin account in htpasswd file?

I improperly maniplated my htpasswd file in “/etc/nas/apache2/auth”.  I noticed that there was a admin password in it but I lost it after that maniplation.  

I am wondering what the purpose of this admin account for my system, or for  remote access like WD2go or WDphotos? Should I or how can I restore that ?

I don’t know the purpose of that account, but you should be able to restore it with a hard factory reset.
