I’m wrestling with a disk that has error 7 as well.

I’m using DLGDIAG 5.19 (DOS).  The Quick Test failue said to do a full surface test to correct the error 7; it did with result 0223 (read errors corrected).

However, the drive hangs when trying to write zeros to it and error 7 recurred.  It’s not looking good.

This drive is a refurbished drive I received from an in-warranty RMA replacement and is out of warranty; if I can’t salvage it, the only cylinder it’s going to see is the trash can.
