I have a 3TB My Book ES divided into two 11/2 TB drives and am using Smartware for backup of two 500 gig hds on a laptop running W7 Ultimate. I upgraded the software and now everything has come to almost a standstill and NIS tells me that WDLockedFiles.exe is running both CPUs near 100%. Total backup amount is only 1.3 gig and it has taken over 4 hours to do just a refresh backup. What is this file and can I get rid of it?
Uninstall smartware from your computer and do a clean installation of the latest version.
