What happens my files if My Cloud fails?

So I’m just wondering what happens my files if My Cloud fails from power surge / age etc… Can I still access my files regardless of whether or not the machine still works? Or if not, will I be able to get those files back by logging in on a new/replacement My Cloud device?

No, your files are on the drive.   If your drive fails (depending on failure mode), your files are gone.

That’s why you need BACKUPS.  ;)

Use a “Safepoint” and backup you Cloud Drive. Remember, if you do not have a copy somewhere else then all is gone if your drive fails.

If your MyCloud is your back up then if it fails you still have the original files. Buy another device and back up again.
