My cousin recently bought a WD SSD, but right now he only uses it to check the drive’s health status. He isn’t sure which other features are actually useful.
Are there any specific features that you use often and would recommend enabling?
You need to provide which device he owns and what Operating System it has.
Has he searched for a User Manual for that device.

Thanks for the heads-up. I’ll check his SSD model and operating system first. I’d also like to hear which WD Dashboard features you all use most often, such as firmware updates or performance monitoring, so I can get a better idea of what I find most useful.
I own two WDMYCLOUDS, a first and a second generation. One has OS3 the other has OS5. My first generation is used on my home network only. My second generation is connected over the internet.
Both dashboards provide for creating Users and shares. I am the administrator for both. It also shows what apps will work with each device. If I click on the question mark icon it will provide the information shown in the image below.
What my devices do, depending on the OS, is what a person can or can’t do. Read all the information provided along with the User Manual for his device.
I do keep my second generation up to date.
