So this is the solution that WD proposes for their new Forum experience. ■■■■, second only to their support for their products. I’m now into my second week with a NAS brick since the firmware upgrade. How does a company as large as WD make the excuse that Apple broke the system by putting out a new operating system. Was WD under a rock when all the Betas were released. In reference to another post, how the hell do we identify the moderators of this Forum?
Agree , and where is the ‘Search’ ? a ‘standard’ forum would be superior to this
Search is the magnifying glass at the top banner.
Thanks
I sure hope this isn’t the way “other” forums go? I hate it!
What’s wrong with the new forum format, specifically?
Well I think navigation is poor and I’m sure many would prefer ‘traditional’ style ,
this is a good example - SparkyLinux Forums
I wonder if the moderator(s) even care for it? I to prefer the “traditional style” forum.
Have you updated to 10.11.1 and still get the same issues? Upgrading to OS X 10.11.1 has fixed it for me, hopefully it does for you too.

Other users here reported that they were in the Apple beta test program, and that the MyCloud worked okay with the late betas. It seems that some final tweak on Apple’s part as they moved from beta to final release broke access. And not just to WD products, but to many NAS devices.
And appears to be fixed in a recent 10.11.1 update to ElCapitan.
That makes me think that it’s Apple’s fault. There’s also the issue of why WD should have to fix problems caused by changes Apple make to their OS, which is what you’re suggesting by saying that WD should have been using Apple betas. Maybe Apple, who were doing the changes to THEIR OS, should have had a WD drive to test THEIR new OS on…?
WD have enough problems of their own without being blamed for problems caused by Apple; let’s be fair and place the blame where it belongs.
Yes, fix it for me too!
Did WD have any of their own machines for testing when the Gold Master went out? Did it take days of reading posts like ours on the Forum before they became aware of an issue? As late as last night WD techs were still saying they had not heard any issues with the NAS. One didn’t even know a firmware update had been issued that might in fact correct the issue. WD sells machines that attach to Mac’s, it sure better keep up with every change Apple makes with their operating system.
I don’t like the editing tools. There is no choice for font size or color. I liked the old forum better and that style forum is still in use by AARP.
If you click on my user name you will see I am a Basic user. I guess a moderator will have that showing.
