Western digital tv hd live media player

Hi, as I siad in my other topic I’m a newbie to all this, so please bare with me.

I have a MyBook Live 2 tb LAN harddrive, and I wonder what the “WESTERN DIGITAL TV HD LIVE MEDIA PLAYER” is used for? I see it has no HDD slots, and no memory itself so I dont get it? What could I use it for? 

I have a samsung TV with DLNA support.

You can connect USB storage to it.

You can connect it to Network Sharing devices such as PCs or NAS boxes.

You can stream certain internet content to your TV

You can use it to stream from DLNA servers.
