I have a random question for you. Let’s say I have the My Book Studio II in Raid 1 (mirrored) mode. If I pull out one of the drives and put it in my computer, will it work? Or does it only work inside the enclosure?
It should work fine, it might change the configuration of the drive and must likely required initialization and formatting of the unit. Any particular reason why you want to do that?
If you have a Raid drive is because you want to protect your files, removing one drive defeats the purpose of buying a Dual drive unit.

I was just thinking if the enclosure stopped fuctioning if there was a way to get the data off the drives.
Oh ok…yes it’s possible to recover that way.
