Returned my drive, fedex said it arrived on 2/3, didn’t hear anything from WD for a week so I called them on 2/11, they said it hadn’t been seven business days, call back tomorrow. Magically, at the same time of my call, an email arrived in my in box saying they had received my return. I didn’t notice this until I was off the phone.
Called next day, 2/12, they said it takes one to two days to enter the arrival into the system, so 2/12 is not seven days, call back tomorrow. I asked them to look in the system to see if they could find any record of the return, he could not. Told him I’d received an email stating they had. He said call back tomorrow. Asked for a supervisor, told him about the email coming just after or at the same time as my call yesterday, he said it was a coincidence, asked if he would believe that is was a coincidence, he said he would not. Admitted they had received the return and it was in process and that could take another five to seven days. Said he would look into the return, call me that day with an update, and expedite the return shipping. Never called me or send an email.
Got an email on 2/13 with a tracking number, looked up the tracking number, arrival is scheduled for 2/19. If that an upgraded shipping, I would hate to see the normal method, some dude walking across the country?
Getting an RMA out of them was a chore, the web site didn’t work, had to call into the 800 number and the gal on the phone didn’t want to help. Finally got the RMA email, cost me $25 to ship, cheapest fedex I could find. With the mess of the shipping, lost package, customer support, and return shipping debacle, I’d recommend another NAS drive.
