Weird issues on my desktop

I recently bought a “My Book 2tb” external HDD and noticed something peculiar when I connected it to my desktop.

I get this unallocated portion on my HDD.

When I try to format it on my desktop, it fails and the drive becomes unuseable.

When I connect the External HDD to another computer, the unallocated space disappears and I am able to format the HDD and use it.

The only difference I noticed between the systems was that the computer that did not show the “Unallocated space” was running on bios while the other runs on the uefi system.

My desktop is using the uefi system on a MSI motherboard instead of bios. I am wondering if anyone using uefi experiences it or my OS is bugged out and needs a format?

Hello,

The only thing that comes to my mind is checking the setting for the UEFI. Remember that UEFI allows you to block especific hardware on your computer.

Also make sure that the UEFI is up to date.
