Previously we tried to create mutliple users with individual shares on our MyCloud EX2 Ultra. However for anyone to access their shares through the web their share needed public access. Then anyshare with public access was visible even though they only belonged to specific users.
Therefor we turned off public access and no longer may use our MyCloud Ultra EX2 from outside the home. Plus we did not create a generic account to share photos across my family.
Can we create multiple users and restrict access from outside of the home for multiple users and multiples individual shares if we update to OS5?
Public share(s) are not password protected and accessible by all users with login credentials to the NAS. To restrict access to Public share(s), set to Private and assigned users READ/WRITE or READ ONLY access.
The login using MyCloud.com should not fail even if ALL shares are set to DENY for the user.
In the example below, no shares are Public, user is DENY for all Private Shares but login is still possible same as OS 3. The mycloud.com logged in user will not have access to any shares because I set DENY to all for this user.
