We need HDD defragmentation in the WDTVLiveHub firmware!

12 MB is about the best one can expect even on an empty hub.

Agree w/Tony.  !2MB/s or less is pretty typical from a USB2 to USB2 device, either in a 100mbps wired network, or even a gigabit system.  USB2 is the limiting factor.  Has nothing to do with a bleeping machine.  On the other hand, I get around 30MB/s from the PC to a USB3 drive through a gigabit wired network.

If I remember correctly from reading here in the past, its more of a limitation of the the CPU  on this, rather than the port itself.

Either way, wife says I cannot take it appart, till we have the money to replace it if I screw up, lol.

It doesn’t matter if there is a WD player in the mix at all – USB speeds are what they are, and 3 is faster than 2…

LOL yup.

But the hub doesn’t have USB3, only USB2, so that doesn’t really help in this matter.
