After the upgrade to Firmware Version 1.06.15, If a video is playing on local hard drive and the wdtvlive is connected to the network I can´t pause or stop the video because it keeps on playing. I’ve tried the downgrading but it behavior is the same. But if the wdtvlive is not connected into my network I can use all functionalities of the remote (pause, stop, etc) but if I plug the network cable again it will freeze again. Even if I disconnect the USB drive the video keep on playing…
All components in my network are the same and the wdtvlive was working very good before the latest upgrade. I use wdtvlive to share my Hard Drive and I copy throw the network all film to the drive but now I have o always unplug it from wdtvlive and insert it to my PC and back again to wdtvlive.
Does anyone have an idea of the solution???
Ok i had this problem too!
Cause: My remote control not respond after a little minutes of use WDTV. In my house I have 3 WD-TV so I tested with other remote control and the problem was not with remote control but something in WDTV.
Solution: In my case the problem was with USB wireless adaptor. I used TP-LINK 821 ver. 2.2 and changed for D-Link. You can test easy try to not use USB wireless adaptor and look if your remote control works fine after used WDTV a half hour. If ok, try to use again with your USB wireless adaptor and if the problem start again the adaptor is the problem.
The adaptor works fine im my PC no problem with adaptor, but it works hot in WDTV and I think because it works every time with low signal, I have walls in the signal way. The D-link works with more signal and not stay too hot. I think the temperature maybe is the problem to freeze WDTV to use remote control it´s possible the same problem with you.
Sorry for my poor english and please put a feedback for other people with the same problem. Firmware 1.06.15 works fine in my 3 WDTV, the firmware is not a problem.
Sorry, I read with more attention and you sad “network cable” not “wireless”, so try to see if when you conect a network cable your WDTV stay more hot, freeze (remote control not response) it´s possible relationed with temperature. Try to test with a fan. It´s a very simple test.
First of all I’m sorry for the time i took to reply .
My wdtvlive freezes when connected in my home network because if i unplug the network cable it works just fine but if connected in the network i can’t pause or stop or do anything else with the wdtvlive. The funny thing is that with the version 1.05 this never append.
