WDTV Play wont see my WD hard drive

hi just brought the WDTV play.

it see all my USB sticks but wont see my WD hard drive.

its model WDBAAR5000ABK-00 2.5inch 500gb

it works everywhere else on all my laptops and other media readers.

Any ideas?

Hello,

Are you using the original cable that came with the drive?

Also make sure that the media player is connected directly to the wall outlet.
