WDTV Live Streaming Media Player and 4TB Seagate Expansion

i am in desperate need of help.

I recently purchased the WDTV Live Streaming Media Player (WDBGXT0000NBK-AESN), I am having major issues connecting it to a Seagate 4TB external hard drive. I am able to access files from my internal storage on my PC, but it doesn’t recognise the external.

I’ve shared the external hd, it states it is shared on my pc to my WDTV…but won’t read?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, and i apologise for my naivety!

Hello,

Take a look at this link and review the steps. Hope it helps.

How to share a folder in Windows that can be viewed with the WD TV Live, Live Streaming, Live Hub, or Live Plus

I’m no expert but what I’ve read in more than a few  reviews of this model is that this unit has trouble reading larger drives like 4 TB.

If you have a smaller external drive …say  1TB or less…try it that way and see if it works.

I know this won’t fix the issue for the 4TB, but at least you’ll confirm the problem.

Thankyou,

I’ll try both, however it was connecting fine with my 2 x 2tb internal hard drives…

I’ll see how i go!
