I cant install it! Tried with 2 different usb´s, but its a no go.

You don’t have a Live PLUS, do you?   All your other posts are with respect to the LIVE, not the Live Plus.

YOU are very right! Didnt notice the PLUS thingy  Thanks

Just so everybody understands:

This is for the LIVE PLUS only and will not work with the LIVE.

MKV audio still doesn’t work.  I’ve seen in other threads where some users report it fixing there problem but not in my case.  I have both a WD TV Live and a WD TV Live Plus.  The WD TV Live plays all of the MKV files without any issues, the Plus version plays them without any sound.  Other file formats are ok.

Can you please provide either sample files that exhibit this problem or Mediainfo for the problem files?

If its the compression issue Mediainfo won’t help - it just decrompresses the headers but doesn’t  tell you it has done so.

Right, if it’s a question on HEADER COMPRESSION being present or not, MKVINFO is the tool to use, part of the Matroska Toolset.

Here is the Medio Info for a file that doesn’t play audio after upgrading WD TV Live Plus.  This same file plays without issue on WD TV Live running last official release firmware  Let me know if I can provide anything else

As they said, please provide info using MKVINFO, which will show us if the header info is compressed or not.

It won’t be…  It was authored with Handbrake which doesn’t do that…

I’m going to hazard a guess that your Live is set to STEREO, but your PLUS is set to DIGITAL, and your receiving device doesn’t support Dolby 5.1.

Success!!!  That was exactly the issue.  The television that the Plus is on apparently doesn’t support digital, the one the Live is on does.  Thanks for the quick responses.   Rock On.

Moderator, feel free to remove my postings as they appear to not be related to the upgrade.

Thanks again.

What about for us vanilla Live users?  Aren’t we getting a beta update as well?

Gee, Jackster!   Impatient, aren’t we?  :)

Heck, the Live has had THREE betas in the last 3 months.   This is a first for the Plus.  :)

Thanks here from Argentina

I will tell you if i come up with any issue

It will come – they wanted to get this beta out for the Plus quickly to see if it can fix some of the many Netflix issues (the MKVMerge is actually very secondary to all this, but will be in the next firmware update for the Live, I’d take to the bank).

I can confirm the Netflix frame rate issue has been fixed. Everything looks good now.

I’m eagerly anticipating!

TonyPh12345 I’ll be more impatient to get a final delivery for the wd tv live that fixes usefull issues/ideas submitted but I think now it will never comes (last one is from March …).
