WDTV live not picking up new video files added to shared folder

Hi

I have been unable to view recently added flip video files added to a shared folder that is seen when i access WDTV live via the server it sees on my main computer. Network shares don’t work, so I’ve given up on that issue. I read somewhere that  one needs to "refresh " the folder, but I don’t know how that is done. Any ideas?

What server are you using on your computer.

I don’t know. I am running Windows 7 Home premium edition, and WDTV sees my shared folders.

As you say that you are not using network shares can we assume that you are connecting via the media server route?

Correct. In additon, I am running the latest non-beta version of the WDTV live firmware.

It appears that you might be running Windows Media Centre.

Is the file you added in the same folder as other files that you can play?

Is the file you added the same type of file that you have played before. You say it is a flip video - can you play other flip videos via this media server?

It may be that the media server is not monitoring the folders.

It may be that Windows Media Server cannot ‘serve’ the flip videos to the WDTV.

So info on Windows Media Centre here
