Wdtv live hub fails to start

THE UNIT SHOWS THE WD LOGO AND ATTEMPTS TO LOAD THE MOCHI OS AND THEN RESETS.

SUSPECT THAT HDD IS FAULTY OR CORRUPT . ANY SUGGESTIONS.

ONLY 5 WEEKS OLD. I HAVE OBTAINED AN RMA BUT I WILL LOSE ALL MY MEDIA.

WILL BACKUP MY MEDIA NEXT TIME .

Faulty HD wouldn’t do that.   The UI can run without an HD; sounds like firmware got corrupted…

have you tried resetting by pressing the paperclip button on the bottom with the unit on.

HAVE ATTEMPTED RESET, AS MENTHIONED SOMEONE SAYS THAT FIRMWARE M IGHT BE CORRUPTED..

CANT GET IT TO SUCCESSFULLY START . IT ATTEMPTS TO LOAD MOCHI AND THEN TURNS OFF.

HAVE SENT IT BACK.

THERE SEEMS TO BE NO FALL BACK. RESET THE UNIT AND STILL THE SAME .

UNIT SENT BACK TO WD AS A  RMA .  17 DAYS LATER AFTER WD RECEIVED PRODUCT IM  STILL WAITING FOR REPLACEMENT TO BE SHIPPED. WAS ONLY 5 WEEKS OLD.

BAD EXPERIENCE WITH THIS RMA.

That page contains the post that  I’ve written in order for us to have a long term remedy to the problem.

I SUSPECT THAT THERE IS A  PROBLEM  BUG WITH FIRST GENERATION WDLIVE TV HUBS.  i RETURN MIND AND IT HAS BEEN NOW BEEN REPLACED.IM NOT SURE IF IT IS EXACTLT THE SAME GENERATION HARDWARE 

THERE ARE NOIW SEVERAL USERS HAVING SIMILAR PROBLEMS.

IT WOULD BE GREAT IF WD COULD MENTHIONED WHAT HAS CAUSED THE PROBLEM AND THE SOLUTION.
