Wdtv 2k16!

a cheap $99 Beelink i86 … works ok, but sometimes has an intermittant ‘stutter’ during playback in Kodi (Playback through installed software is fine)

But, i mainly use it for Games (PPSSPP, Reicast etc) , 4K , H265 Stuff (which aint a lot)

RPi2 is my main video player … 100% Perfect Playback

If my latest conversation with WD support is any indication, there’s nothing even in the works at this point. I’m assuming the line is dead.

lol for games i have xbox one :stuck_out_tongue: okay, yeah RPI2 is a good one and cheap, but not very powerful ^^ i just ordered my nvidia shield from cdiscount ^^

wd don’t share plans for future releases like every companies…

nvidia tv shield

Yeah i got a PS4 and PS3 … but they don’t have emulators (PPSSPP, Reicast are emu’s)

powerful enough for my purposes (MKV,MP4 H.264 playback) which is all i need

Enjoy :slightly_smiling:

nice  i understand  i need a more punchy hardware since i need mvc support and watch onlu full hd remuxed blue ray, full 3D blue rays…etc need something that can handle 50+ mbps bit rate so nvidia shield quad core + kodi gonna be appreciated

One thing you may have to sort out on the Nvidia Shield TV … it doesn’t natively support Hardware Acceleration for VC-1 Codec (Used in Bluray’s / WMV etc)
This means potential “Stuttering” of playback (because it’s using Software Decoding)

Apparently there is a “Hack” … for Hardware decoding (but you’ll have to gOOgle)

Thankfully … i can just buy the VC-1 license for the RPi2 to enable Hardware Acceleration (no hacks involved)

i saw running test on the shield, can handled hevc h265 4K until 120mbps man…don’t worry, it’s the more powerfull box i read test, reviews, comparisons, my choice is made and i suggest that you buy one and tou will need an upgrade

Do you know some references of WD external driver 1 TB working well with Nvidia Shied TV?
