They are BOTH the 2014 Model … notice below the WDTV Label on the front ? there is no “Live”

Spent “MONTHS” finding Custom Firmware that would playback video smoothly …
Rockchip don’t provide info / source code for developers … closed shop
So, me , personally i would’nt touch RK3288

(i’m a long time XBMC user from the XBOX days … best Media Centre Available, only got WDTV because, XBOX/XBMC did’nt support HD 720/1080p when i needed it)
In the meantime … my WDTV Live Hub plays back everything i have, perfectly …
