Now that Windows 7 is about to be discontinued I’ve upgraded to Windows 10. Before doing this I’ve backed up all my data onto an “My Passport” Drive using WD Sync. I’ve then installed Windows 10. Now I’d like to restore all of my old data files.
My first problem is that Windows 10 wouldn’t run the version of WD Sync that I used to back up the data files. I’ve downloaded the latest (Windows 10) version from your web site and installed and it.
My next problem is that when I run WD Sync it spends a while “Discovering devices” but eventually gives up saying that “No Storage Devices Were Found” - this is untrue as I have “My Passport” Drive connected and can see files on it using Windows Explorer.
I do not have (or want?) a MyCloud.com account as I don’t intend to store my personal files on a remote server.
How do I get my data back?
