WDSmartWare installation hangs on my Windows 10 system

I decided to try the WDSmartWare on this Windows 10 system (I have a 2TB WDMyCloud) but after 20 minutes of watching the [WD] blue logo sit there on the screen with no action I had to cancel it. That in itself was quite a chore as it would not respond to a service END or DELETE of any kind. As well, the Windows 10 sub-menus were disabled (??) and I was unable to get to the Control Panel to kill the task. I finally managed to end that install by switching to my service account (which is always logged on) and there I was able to access the Control Panel. A re-boot and an uninstall was next.

Has any one else experienced this with the 2.4.13.7 version? This was a new install as I have not used this product before. The WDMyCloud itself is working flawlessly.
