WDMyCloud plug without ethernet cable

I plugged in my WDMyCloud without an ethernet cable but the front led is just steady light. It blink once after a second it goes back to steady white. Should it be blinking right to indicate that there’s no connection? I tried resetting it, 4secs and 40 seconds but no luck. What would be the possible problem?
